Nice they have shelters here you can sit out of the sun and eat lunch, while basking in the views of the lake and pier.Lake Michigan is gorgeous here, and it’s worth it to take a stroll after lunch to the pier and walk it, or to the concession area and bathrooms just to the south.

It was my first visit to Manistee and it's fantastic. Manistee Rec and the tennis camp was great. The whole park area was beautiful and well done and the beach looked quite inviting and relaxing.

A great place to catch a sunset! As you can see it can get busy during prime time. If you want to watch the entire sunset you should get to the beach at least a half hour before the sun is goes down.

A huge beach with clean sand next to Lake Michigan. A great spot to watch fireworks and let the kids run free.On event nights like fireworks either come early or be prepared to walk a long way.Overall one of the nicer beaches in the area.There are swings and a slide for the kids too.

Great for walking the shore line and rock hunting.

Pet Friendly area next to the Lions Pavilion! Nice and easy to get to just off downtown Manistee. North Beach is much larger but this was calm and not crowded and very easy to get to. Sandy and calm water for the dogs to play

A beautiful white sandy beach on the shore of Lake Michigan. The beach area, which has a playground for the kids, bathrooms, and a concession stand, is clean and well maintained. There's also a pier that you can take a leisurely stroll on for a beautiful view. 1st Street Beach is a very nice place for the entire family.

Just like 5th across the channel it's a great place to go with the family and also ship watch. Although this one has a dog park, number of playgrounds surround it, baseball fields, big boat launch with large parking lot, plenty of room for bday parties, picnics and cookouts.

Great place to stop and see Lake Michigan. Several small parks nearby, beach access in multiple locations, pavilions nearby for food with a view. Definitely worth the stop.

Love First Street beach. Grew up on this beach!Beautiful shore line to collect rocks and hopefully score some beach glass. You have the pier to take a break from swimming.Playground to entertain the children. Actually there are 4 playgrounds in a half mile radius. The one I grew up on, Rocket Park! Little out dated but still fun. The Light house park and the new Rotary Park behind the hotel.Back at the beach there is the bath house. Includes a little concession stand style foods and ice cream. Very tasty!Clean rest rooms, including a family style restroom.So if you are considering which beach to hit, first or fifth Ave....we'll both are amazing and you can't go wrong at either!Love Manistee and I promise so will you!

My absolute favorite beach, I have so many childhood memories here and it means the world to me to share those with my son!

We loved the river walk very clean and easy to do. Loved all the signs along the way about the history of the local water ways. Charter companies there cutting up customer’s fish (salmon) they caught. Nice area felt safe walked thru town after old historic buildings and businesses Very Nice

I’ve gone here since I was a little girl, and every time it gets better and better!! The city does such an amazing job with maintaining the cleanliness of this boardwalk. The lawn care is very well managed, and the views never disappoint!!

This is a brief review: Overall, a nice and enjoyable riverwalk.During our visit, we did see a few skunks (fart squirrels, if you are so inclined) near the riverwalk. Something to be mindful of should you have a dog or young children.

Lovely walk along the river. Lots to see. The boards are even and it's a great walking surface. I would be able to take my husband here with his wheelchair., and hope to do that soon.

Whenever I go shopping or to the library I then take my dog for a walk along the Riverwalk from down town Manistee to lake Michigan Beaches.

It is nice. I arrived on a Tuesday after Labor Day in the afternoon and it seemed like a ghost town. Very pretty area. Great spots to watch the bridges open for the passing boats.

This is a nice spot to stretch your legs and enjoy some fresh air. You may see some graffiti, but some Harry Potter fans tagging the city is actually pretty funny.

When ever we travel to Manistee, we make a point of strolling along the riverwalk, it'ss relaxing. There are so many things to see. The views of water, boats, plants, animals, and architecture of the buildings are all awesome. There are plenty of benches to rest along the way. Numerous places to enter various establishments or exit and take a stroll through the downtown area.

A wonderful place to take a stroll. Lots of history. Neat shops on the main street too.

Never been on a coast guard ship as a passenger before. The guy keeping this ship in tip top shape has been working on the two ships found here for a long time. Loved being able to climb up and down this ship.

A very nice state campground right in the shores of lake Michigan. I would give it five stars, but access to lake Michigan is blocked right now due to erosion. Better safe than sorry!

It is a nice campground with large sites, although not private by any means. They have nice shower buildings in at least two locatoins and a variety of trails to walk.

I've never stayed here, but I have stopped through a few times to get some amazing pictures... Beautiful view of lake Michigan. Specially if you can catch a good sunrise or sunset. Overall I think it's a cute little park to least just check out...

The location is amazing with a view of Lake Michigan at sunset is amazing. It is a very crowed camp site and locations are very close. Many people brings boats in addition to campers. So very busy. Clean Restrooms.

Beautiful state park, sits just off the highway. They offer tent sites, pull thru sites, full hookup sites, and sites with only electricity. You can see the lake from most sites. The campground sits on top of a bluff with beautiful sights. There are 3 sanitation stations, bathrooms with shower houses, and it's also a historical site. Most sites are close together, our site was not very much to our liking, as it sat on a slope (#53). We came late April, so the park was empty except 12 of us. There's walking trails across the road and the giant sequoias are just down the road. There's a decent size playground next to the camper cabin and there's also a mini cabin.

The majority of sites in this campground are Fairly Small and Cramped. There are a lot of mature oaks and maples that provide shade but also tend to make the campsites more difficult to navigate when backing in a larger camper/trailer. We arrived early and were able to pull through the campsite behind us that was still unoccupied in order to get into our campsite without having to jockey around trees to back into it instead, as we have a 42' Solitude which tends to push the capacity limits of most State Park Campsites anyway. However, this Park does have a small number of pull through sites that have 50 amp service as well, but they book up very quickly. As a result of Lake Levels being high and the resulting lake erosion, there is no longer any Beach left, or access to even the Shoreline, on Lake Michigan. The park is on top of a 200' bluff and the stairs to the beach and shoreline were washed away at the end and are now blocked at the end by huge Boulders that were brought in to slow down the wave erosion. The Park still offers Beautiful Sunsets to behold over Lake Michigan that are 2nd to None! As usual, this State Park has a Great and Welcoming Park Staff!

Nice small campground along lake Michigan with easy to access trails. Sites are packed together but large enough. Bath house at the South end has 3 steps up to restroom. Older bldg, but well kept and very clean. No beach access, but short drive to 2 great public beaches. Playground is a slide and a swing with a sandbox. Yard games to check out were a plus!

We enjoyed that this state park was nice and quiet. There were lots of families. Kind of a bummer that the beach is unsafe and currently blocked off. There are historical buildings, but the park is currently under construction, so you can't see everything. The bathrooms were not the cleanest. There are some nice hiking trails across the street. You can watch the sunset from the bluff, that was really fun. People clapped after it went down. :D

Great place to camp , close to the city of Manistee MI, and lake Michigan is a stones through away. Burger King is up the road on US31 N....full capacity most days from memorial day to labor day, so "reserve to persevere "as I say....

This is a nice park. The spacing is tight from what we usually see in a state park. I think the spaces feel so small because the sites are completely grass. There are no pads for vehicles, so people setup all over their spaces in all sorts of different configurations. There are also a ton of trailers with boats, which are parked right at the campsites. Many campers had a boat & trailer, a truck, a car and a RV, along with 1-2 tents on their site. We had a terrible time backing into our spot with a 34 ft Class A, because there were trucks, boats and trailers parked all along the road. We ended up parking sort of sideways so we weren’t hanging out in the road.That being said, the park itself is lovely. The view of the lake is awesome and the staff we met were wonderful. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The showers are all individual and unisex, which in my opinion is the best. We hiked all the trails and even went to see the Giant Sequoia down the road. The entire trip was an easy 6 miles. There are really no additional amenities here, as they are all about boating the lake. There is no access to the beach or swimming here. The boat launch is in Manistee about 2 miles from the parkThere is a wonderful Trolley Tour bus that comes to the park in summer and does an hour long tour of Manistee. It’s a true bargain at $6/adults & $3/kids. If you ask, they will allow you to hop off the bus at the downtown station, so you can explore the town, then hop back on and complete the tour. All in all we liked being here, but probably would not return due to the parking situation.

Played the South course this weekend and wow what a treat. The green complexes are amazing. The course was difficult but fair. Had dinner at the Bluffs and the food was divine. Special thanks to Shay our server for a most enjoyable experience. Can't wait to book a trip for the Bluffs course next Spring. Great job everyone this is a top notch bucket list golf experience.

New to the area and decided to celebrate our anniversary here. Our server Lisa was outstanding but not intrusive. Oh the food! We had crab cakes and pork belly apps, grouper (picture shown) and Chilean sea bass with lobster risotto. Dessert pictured was a chocolate chip cookie baked in a ramekin topped with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge. To our chefs: Brett Phillips, Matt Evans and Josh Santa our meal was cooked perfect and so delicious from beginning to end. We look forward to our next meal created by these fine chefs. Our evening was serenaded by the bag piper playing amazing grace as the sun set. This was truly memorable and we thank you!

Came here to play golf at the bluffs and south course. Both very unique courses. I give them a 5 stars because the courses are very nice and well taken care of but the thing that makes them good is their employees. Went above and beyond to accommodate my group. I really appreciated it.

I just stayed here for the weekend after wanting to visit for years. It far exceeded my expectations in every way. First, the accommodations at the Lodge were so comfortable and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. All the food I had was delicious and the golf course is breathtaking! The views alone are worth the trip, but the experience was perfect in every aspect. Well done!

The course was very nice to play on, the staff were exceptional. However, I feel like if you assign tee times, then you should tee off at that time.we got paired up with another couple and got a 20 min pep talk before we even got close to the boxes, and then every four holes our cart and a staff member were reminding us to speed it up, even though there were two groups ahead of us and we're right on their heels. Nice course, great views but for the price I'm not sure if I would like to experience that again.

Great course, great views, etc. The course would deserve 5 Stars; however, my brother-in-law and I (both low handicappers) were paired with 2 people that most likely had never set foot on a golf course before! It was painful - my guess is that they each shot at least 170 (no exaggeration), they putted out on every hole, and although they were nice people, they had no clue about golf etiquette. Bottom line - we'd recommend that a screening process be put in place so experienced players don't have to suffer through a round being paired with people who have no business being on ANY golf course! A round at Arcadia Bluffs is far too expensive to allow "golfers" who have never stepped foot on a driving range, never teed it up at their local muni, or never putted through a windmill. Thank you...

We had an issue at check in they couldn’t find our reservation. However they got us a room late ⏰ Friday night .I’ve been golfing for 3 years, and this has been my favorite course ever ! The views are fantastic. Literally feels like you’re in Europe. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice . Food was good. Guests were also friendly. We played 18 holes Sat and Sunday, takes about 5 hours each time. Occasionally you have to wait for the group ahead of you. If you golf and live in Michigan, you should play this course at least 3 times in your lifetime. That’s how fantastic it is !

My words can't begin to do it justice. Simply an amazing course. It's difficult, challenging, but fair. I'm an average golfer at best but mixed in with my snowmen and dub and trip bogeys were a par and a couple bogey. The weather was rough (rain on the back 9, 20 mph winds the entire round) but it hardly diminished my experience on the course..Beautiful scenery, great views of the lake! On the back nine, a par 3 with a bluff with a bluff to clear off the tee. Placement on tee shots is critical, otherwise you can expect blind shots, fescue in the rough.Course has all the amenities, for inclement weather, carts have covers and heaters. Cart girl was available at multiple holes. The restroom on the course was as nice as most houses bathrooms!Starter very nice and told me all I needed to know before I teed off.Rest of the course staff were helpful and knowledgeable as well. The pro shop was well stocked and answered all questions I had about the course in great detail.Spent the night at the Lodge. First class, bathroom with both standard and rain shower. Quiet, clean and plenty of room. Sheets so crisp, wife wanted to know where they got them. Balcony with views of the course. Coffee service was just outside our room.Dinner was a little pricey in the main dining room (bar and dining near the bar, probably less) but top notch food, excellent service and an elegant setting with more great views of the lake. Our server was more than happy to answer our questions about the food.Can't say enough how great of an experience it was from the course, to the hotel, to the staff!!Thanks! Hope to return in the future.

Best golf experience ever, simple. Have golfed several other top 100 courses (Ocean Course, Whistling Straits, etc.) and this place was so much more. Course visually stunning, obviously, it isso well kept and challenging too. Will definitely be going back to play the South course too.

Absolutely stunning golf course. The views on each hole were incredible and they make great use of the elevation, which keeps each hole interesting. Not many bunkers on the course but the ones they did have were well placed and very challenging. We played this course in 30mph winds which made it even more difficult but it was still manageable due to the wide open fair ways.Course was in great condition.Only criticism was the clubhouse wasn't very inviting and didn't have much character. Felt more like a Hilton hotel lobby than a place i would want to have food and post golf beers at.

My partner and I have made the day after labor day a yearly trip to the Bluffs. He golfs and Arcadia is a favorite of his, I do not golf and still Arcadia is a favorite. I have gone out and rode in the cart and have loved the view. However, I love even more sitting on the balcony of our very comfy room or in one of the Adirondack Chairs, reading a good book. We did a late dinner and when seated and looking at the menu, I did not see any vegetarian items as entrees, I asked the waitress. She told me they don't have any but that Chef Mike Evans loves to make them to order. I told her what I didn't like (spicy and mushrooms), and asked her to let the Chef choose everything else. I was treated to one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant! I made sure to tell the manager what a gem he is. It was delightful to have this experience and I hope Chef Mike is there for years to come! Thank you to all the staff at Arcadia for another great getaway!!

What a magical place! The experience was almost surreal with incredible views at every turn, challenging holes (to say the least), and a world class clubhouse to watch the sunset. Shout out to Chef Brett Phillips (we asked for his name) for an incredible menu that, together with a smokey Old Fashioned, was to die for. Our server also added to the totality of the experience. Her name escapes me, but I do recall she had many of her family working at the resort. Bucket list item fulfilled........but now a place we must find a way to revisit .

Incredible views of lake Michigan and the golf course. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious! I loved the rainfall showers. So comfortable and refreshing! Every employee tried to go above and beyond our expectations. We were not disappointed. I especially loved the solo bagpipe player who would play in the late morning, afternoon and at sunset. The golf course was a replica of a course in Scotland, hence the bagpipe player. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to another stay.

All around it was an unforgettable experience. From ease of booking, friendly staff, mouth-watering menu items, breathtaking golf and comfortable lodging -- there was not one detail or category this place falls short on. This place was on our bucket list but instead of crossing it off, we are keeping it on to hopefully re-experience it real soon!

Bought a package here as a surprise for my grandfather who loves nothing more than golf. He got sick over the last winter and won’t be able to golf anymore. I reached out to the staff and they were completely understanding. Without question worked with me towards a resolution. While I’m sad he won’t be able to enjoy this beautiful course, it was nice to work with people that have compassion and understanding. Thank you.

We were fortunate to get a last minute two night reservation and I was able to play the South Course and The Bluffs Course yesterday and today. The Bluffs course was unbelievable. Reminded me of Couer D’ Alene Idaho. South Course is difficult due to the inability to shoot for pins without always running over the green. I shot an 88 on both courses but felt like the South made me work harder for it. The rooms were very nice with awesome views of Lake Michigan. Great food. Great service and attentiveness. The ranger at the Bluffs was a little annoying pushing us until we were chasing the foursome off the green in front of us. But not annoying enough to rate this less than a five. Will definitely come back.

First to get married on the patio of the Lakeview Room (10-12-23). The venue and lodge accomodations for our ceremony were unmatched! Truly a magical place! Shout out to Cameron and staff for making our day extra special. The planning and coordination with Cameron throughout the process was smooth and accommodating. We have been vacationing here for many years and this resort will always be one of our annual trips.

We had a sandwich before our round, and the service was great. The golf course was fantastic. Our caddy Ethan was awesome. We had a great time with him and he was very knowledgeable about the course. He's a 3 around there which was helpful.Thanks we will be back!

Absolutely gorgeous! This is one of the prettier lighthouses in Michigan! We spent quite awhile here just exploring, touring the lighthouse and browsing in the gift shop! Put this lighthouse on your bucket list…you won’t be disappointed!!!

I brought my dog here to see the sunset and loved it! Small parking area, but there were only a few people, so I didn't have a problem getting a spot. You can walk the beach a long way. Will definitely come again!

First off their parking situation is a joke. There's basically NO parking lot. You park along the side of the road.The lighthouse is very nice it just kinda demands attention sitting on top of a small hill. I didn't go inside for the $5 tour due to it was too busy for my taste.The gift center / museum display was another building. The display was very nice with lots of information.The beach portion was spectacular. A nice long beach. To the right in front of lighthouse there's a heavy duty metal seawall. The lake crashing into it creates a very enjoyable sight and occasionally a weird noise. Plus the lighthouse towering over you is great.Overall a 4 1/2 star review, losing the half due to the crazy parking situation. I'll round up though to the full 5. Would I return? Absolutely!There is no reason the parking is so stupid. The area behind it is Government land. Put in a frickin parking lot for crying out loud.

Beautiful Lakeshore lighthouse and property. Nice gift shop and visitor center, too! Scenic views of the lake, it's a must stop.We were on motorcycles. Lots of sand on the road. Dead end and turning around was a little challenging.

Beautiful area - we didn't take the tour because it was later in the day. The beach was sandy with nice rocks and shells for the kids. It was very windy but so pretty.

Beautiful lighthouse. We took the tour and you are able to go up to the top. Its not a tall lighthouse but it was a good visit. Be prepared if you want to go to the beach though. It is very rocky in the water so its a good idea to bring shoes that can be worn into the water. Great place to hunt for rocks apparently - there were a ton of people out engaging in this activity.

I love coming here. They've redone a lot of it (painting and building the gift shop) from when I was a kid. And you can even rent an apartment in the lighthouse! The beach is a beautiful place to watch sunsets and the tour is fun to be able to go up into the light tower. Great history.

Such a great stop in history, we stopped for the beach but because of high winds we ended up exploring the lighthouse and area around. Very Beautiful

**You can buy tickets for time slots for the tour in the Gift Shop across from the bottom of the lighthouse steps. They are $5 each to help keep it in excellent condition**I love this beach and finally got to go on the tour! It's a very interesting look into how a very old Remote Lighthouse worked and how the Lightkeepers family's lived while lives were saved on a regular basis THE HARD WAY! The steps to the top are really narrow but there aren't all that many.The Gift Shop is really nice with restrooms to the right and thru to the left is an interactive kids area with even more info on how the people there survived pretty much cut off from the rest of the world unless they used a boat! Worth the stop and time it takes to explore!I even heard you can stay the night in the lighthouse... if you're into that kinda thing.

Busy stop on our way up to Sleeping Bear Dunes but peaceful and quiet near the lighthouse as most people are going to the beach which was not too crowded. There is a small visitor’s center to purchase tickets for a docent led tour through the lighthouse, and restrooms for visitors. Parking is along the road so you may need to walk farther if visiting in the later part of the day. There are picnic tables and Adirondack chairs around the lighthouse to enjoy the scenic views and a small grill if you want to have a picnic/bbq.

This is one of my favorite places on the Michigan Lake shore for making photos and/or just taking a walk. I went there this year on the evening of my birthday, saw a beautiful Summer sunset on the lake. It was simply gorgeous. Definitely recommend it, whether you get a chance to go inside the lighthouse or not.

It’s spectacular place to visit, especially in the winter with the ice forming on everything near the lighthouse.

An awesome little spot to visit. Had to park on the road, but we didn't have to spend a dime. Walked along the beach, took a few pictures, and it was a fun time.We did not go into the lighthouse or anything. That does cost money.

A magnificent day at the beach. I have been coming to this beach for over 25 years. I love this place and I love Lake Michigan. Cheers to another great day spent doing what I love. Being in, on or near Lake Michigan and the Frankfort area. I have never seen so many rock hounders in one day as I did today! Everyone had a pail. Well the rocks were plentiful, even out in the water they were everywhere. Wear your water shoes and come have a blast!

I love this lighthouse. It's quaint and charming and it's beach is lovely and beautiful. The tour is concise and excellently guided. And the tower view is gorgeous.Second time here and plan to come back often.

This place is great! The ice cream is great they're thrift shop is great and their prices are great. This is one of my favorite places to go kayaking I would like to warn that I have spotted a snapping turtle right by the docks several times now so be careful but have a great time

Always friendly and are willing to port our equipment for a kyakk trip, rather than forcing us to rent their's. Would be a 5 star, but price quoted on phone was lower than price charged, not sure which person was correct, but cashier didn't care when we brought up that we had been quoted a different price. Oh well. Had fun, great trip on the upper Platte river.

Very easy and pleasant ride. Took about 2 hours to get from the launch to the end. Very forgiving river. Many intriguing wildlife. Wood ducks, kingfisher, green heron, muskrat, turtles, and lots of fish. Crystal clear water.

We use our own kayaks, but these friendly folks will give you a lift for a small fee so you can park your car at the park where your paddle ends. The store has a lot of great things. The Platte River is magnificent.

We come here every year and always have a blast! The crew here is awesome and always helpful. This year was okay. Tubers took over the river and made it difficult to go around them. But don't let that stop you. We still had a great time! Don't float, rent a boat, and have fun.

Friendly staff willing to answer any questions you may have with a variety of options for tubing, canoeing and kayaking. If I did it again I would definitely get a canoe or kayak for one of us to help pull us along as the river was slow due to high water. Definitely make sure you wear your sunscreen, sun glasses and a hat!

The most amazing place on earth. I look forward to this trip every 4th of July. It's always a great time tying up tubes with friends and just hanging out. The staff is friendly and always ready to help make your lazy river trip fantastic.

We did the 2-3 hour tubing trip with closed bottom tubes. Thankfully we chose the closed bottom tubes because they came in very helpful in holding our belongings. They did give us a clear bag to hold our stuff in if needed, we put our car key and cell phones in them tied them to the handle and they were safe the entire trip, as long as you don’t somehow flip off your tube your items would be safe. There is about a 5-10 minute walk holding your tube to get to the lake. They give you twine to tie your rafts together if your in a group so your not all separated on the water. Most areas the water will lead you but there are some areas where you will have to use your arms to “swim” or guide yourself where the water is slower moving. Majority of the water if not all of it was just over your knees. We got life jackets but quickly realized we didn’t need them. Where you rent the tubes there is a party store with snacks and souvenirs. They also have an ice cream shop that also sells some hot food if needed. Overall we had a blast and I highly recommend.

We had a great kayak trip down the South Platte. Very slow, does require paddling a good amount. (Took us 2.5 hours to complete). The bearded guy that helped launch us was great, super friendly and personable, made us glad we chose this place.Water is crystal clear and you can see tons of fish! Bring a cooler and drinks and extra sunscreen! (they sell all of the above).

Extremely frustrating and over complicated sign in process. Let’s not just have one place where you do it all, no, let’s make what could be simple into a 6 step process. Signing in should only take a few minutes, this place took over an hour from first step to on the river. Seriously, we got there at 12 on a Wednesday, and we weren’t floating down the river until 1:25. It was just too over complicated, people at each stage were repeating what we had already heard at previous steps, so some fat can be trimmed out of the process. Our driver, Caleb, was a saving grace however, he was extremely patient with our stressed out group and offered to help in any way he could. The river was beautiful and very relaxing, we needed it after sign in. I’d suggest tubing here, but I’d suggest bringing your own equipment to streamline the process.

Everything was perfect.Staff, management, prices, location, cleanliness, transportation, and selection.I was thoroughly impressed.We bought tons of firewood and ice. Everything for smoores. They had an air pump for my inflatable paddleboard.Great drink selection. Had a great trip on the upper Platte. Technical paddling with tight maneuvering required at times - the staff informed us on the need for this beforehand. Should you not be an experienced paddler, they offer other easier trips that also sound fun and beautiful. Great operation, family friendly fun.

Been here for tubing. Had to wait for too long before we could start. Were told to wait for induction but it never happened! Water flow was so slow, it was difficult to be with the flow, especially for 10-12 year olds. Way too many branches along the shores and it is a bit risky if you don’t watch your head/eyes. Walking back with the tube is also a bit tricky due to no directions mentioned along the way. I think Kayaking should be preferred at this location.

Just not the same! Where's the jerky in the spread? Dry dry pieces, hard , over cooked jerky, 5 different flavors, was not impressed! South of Baldwin better jerky, moist full of flavor, will not go out of my way to shop here again! Bring extra cash , expensive also ! Staff was friendly, good meat and selections, never expected to see pre packaged items that they didn't package, cheese curds (yuk) creamy no flavor, but store will cover your basic essentials, little bit of everything , far as new look to modern for area, rustic look would have given you that up north welcome feeling

A favourite for their deli and meats, for their all purpose spice, I just love the store. Great day trip for us! And we always enjoy lunch from there when we go.

I wanted to give this place 4 stars just because of how expensive it can be.. But at the end of the day it's better to spend your kids' college fund here than at any University.And of course, you always have to love the trash bear!

Much bigger than it used to be! Full grocery store and lots of selection. Bought some of the ghost pepper cheese curds and they were delicious. Friend bought the sweet heat turkey jerky and loved it. I'd recommend if you're intosmoked Meats and cheeses.

If you haven't been, you need to! Best Jerky in the world bar none. Also amazing meats, groceries and hardware at competitive prices. Love our general store!

On a recent trip back home I visited The Dublin Store to pick up my usual stockpile of jerky and bacon, and in doing so I came across some cherry brats. Being a former cherry farmer in Mason County, I figured I'd give it a try. Let me tell you it was simply horrible. A complete waste of cherries and brats. Everything else I bought was spectacular.

We like to rent a cabin up here to get away. Today was my first time checking this store out. So glad I did! Has everything you need and more, even a small gift section.

Little known treasure tucked away at Crystal Mountain resort is the Michigan Legacy Art Park. 2.5 mile trail through the woods scattered with art. Wonderful!!

This is a wonderful, and beautifully maintained, art park with a nicely delineated series of trails that can take you on a 2-mile (or shorter) hike to see about 30 pieces of art. The hike is VERY hilly and not stroller friendly, so be sure people in your party are good with doing some hill climbs! The ground is mostly packed dirt and mulch. The sculptures range in style but are mostly from the modern and contemporary eras.

Tried running around this by myself during winter. It has some hills through there. It was definitely a neat attraction to stop and check out

We had the path to ourselves. It was simplicity meets originality meets tranquility. The art is thought provoking and has information posted. Definitely a must see trail.

Such a beautiful hike. The round-trip hike was just over 2 miles, some pretty good hills in the mix. Lots of benches to stop at, if needed.

The park has developed extensive walking trails with michigan artistic works blending with the forest, lakes, and wildlife in an exploratory hike. Located at Crystal Mountain, you can get a room and have fun discovering all the special places, that make excellent memories. Have fun, I sure did.

Really nice and shady walk. Lots of cool sculptures to look at. It's not free, they request a donation of $5 pp or $10 per family and you can pay with card at the visitor info shack or via cash at the start of the trailhead. Well worth the donation though! Very scenic area and serene woods.

Beautiful hiking trail! IMHO, one of the best in the state when you factor in the interesting artwork worked into the surroundings... What a great experience!! A must visit if you are in the area and enjoy hiking.

Over four dozen sculptures themed to the area, the environment and Michigan abound on numerous trails through the wooded acreage abuting Crystal Mountain resort southwest of Traverse City.

$5 to see amazing works scattered throughout the trails. Multiple paths back so you don't need a long walk if you don't want one. A few structures were closed due to needed repairs, however all of the trails were still accessable and clear.

Where to even begin? Let’s start with the first night arriving to our condo, and excited to look around and finding bugs and hair on the bedding. Immediately called the front desk and had them come and change the bedding. Came back from dinner at a restaurant there, and went to open up the couch for the pullout bed. Found food and hair and dirt all over it and the mattress. I used the dusty vacuum I found in a closet to clean it myself. Upstairs, there is a skylight which is bright as heck at 5am! That wasn’t advertised on the website. The stairs going up to the upstairs are treacherous, we all tripped going down them! Then we all took showers (5 of us) and had cold water. My kids were crying during their freezing showers. The next day, same thing again, so we told the front desk again (in person this time) and they sent a maintenance guy at about 11pm at night. He discovered the hot water was set to the lowest temp and said hope it helps. Well, it didn’t, cold showers again the next day. Everything is old, dirty and needs updating. The kitchen sink faucet sprays all over, beds are uncomfortable and the upstairs is hot as heck and can’t be controlled. For what we paid, you’re better off to go somewhere else nicer and newer with better service. After voicing all of our complaints, the manager Emily accused my mother of lying and saying they have no record whatsoever of anything we said. The man prior who she spoke with on the phone happened to know exactly what I said to the maintenance man, but yet they had no record of us telling them any of this. What a joke. Shame on you! I wish I could give this no stars, Emily, shame on you. My little girls cried during their freezing ice cold showers. How dare you accuse us of lying.

Staff was friendly. Stayed in the Inn at the Mountain. Room was clean and updated. Bed was comfy and the heated bathroom floor was nice in the morning!The conference area was also very nice.

My 12 y/o son (snowboard) and I (skis) had a lovely time at Crystal Mountain the first weekend of February. We skied Friday from late-afternoon into evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning. I have been skiing for 30+ years, but he is still learning to snowboard. Everybody was friendly and patient with him (and me). All the employees were helpful and informed. Great time, and will definitely return!

Came in for a two stay. Skiing was great and had a decent time. Unfortunately, the accommodations were pretty terrible. Need a remodel asap. They put us up in the Wintergreen cottages which were gross. Paint on the wall was chipped, carpet was stained, appliances were dinged, furniture was scratched and the rooms smelled. Sticky couch anyone?? Felt dirty even though it was “clean”. Unless you want your wife to judge your ability to provide for your family all weekend, I would avoid at all costs. Wish I was joking.I called the front desk and they said “Yeah sorry, these rooms need to be updated. Nothing we can do…“Push comes to shove. Bring your own sheets.

Went up for the day to ride the bikes! Chair lift was awesome, managed to get around 20 runs in within 4 hours ! Staff was amazing. Highly recommended riding Crytsal!

Listen, I'm biased to Crystal Mountain. My wife and I got married here last year, which in itself was an amazing experience. The accomodations, the venue, the chairlift ride up... Unbelievable. The grounds are beautiful in every season.I've skied here, mountain biked, been married... I love this place

Definitely one of my favorite resorts I visit. So much that I purchased my season pass for next year. They have amazing customer service. The front desk was very informative and helpful. The lifties are joyful and love to talk.Even with the sub par winter, Crystal definitely worked continuously to make sure we had good skiing conditions this season.The amenities of staying at the resort are also great. I love going to the outdoor hot tub and pool after a day's worth of runs on the mountain.There is a grocery store on site also.

Thank you Crystal Mountain for another fabulous time skiing! Been coming since the late 80's and now I'm bringing my own son! Trails are always well groomed, staff is so nice, helpful and funny when you need a laugh. Can't wait to book again next year!

I liked the area and mix of trails. They shut down the back area before 430p, so that was disappointing. The no-wait-in-line-online-rfid-card ticket system worked great for us. The yurt on the hill was a nice spot for a break.

We had an absolutely magical time here! Took ski lessons with Bob, who was super nice and patient. Stayed at the Inn, which had beautiful rooms that appear to be recently renovated. Lots of neat tech features in the rooms.While this resort is gorgeous, what made our time here so enjoyable were the staff. From the moment we made a reservation all the way to our last day here, the staff have been absolutely wonderful. So friendly and kind. I hope the resort pays them well.Loved the slopes, the pool, and the ice rink. Food at the restaurants was great! Thank you for a great time - we will be back for certain!Updated 7/16/23We have now gone here several times in 2023 and absolutely love it here. The staff make this place special! We were surprised the summer was equally as fun as the winter here - lots of things to do - we did the alpine slide, archery, the pool, and chair lift rides. Highly recommend!

We LOVE Crystal Mountain. The staff are perfect for families - they helped us out with our young kids three different times. It’s very clean, inviting, and well-maintained. Great skiing and other amenities!

I love photographing at this resort. I have had the pleasure of photographing many weddings, proms, family photo's well as other smaller events here. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable.So where to start...lets start from wedding perspective. The pond with small deck is beautiful year around. It can be seen to the left as you enter the facility. Also to the left, is a small wedding seating area with an arbor. Despite the hustle and bustle of the resort this little corner is secluded and and makes it perfect for your small ceremony. I would like to note that there is an adorable little bridge tucked away in the corner. It is worth a photo opt or two.If you are looking for a larger space you should check out the Crystal Center. This is the building located just to the right of the main hotel. It is quite spacious and offers many different rooms. The back off the building is large beautiful windows that offers lots of natural lighting. Though my favorite location is the left back corner over looking the deck. The fire places really add to the ambiance. I have personally shot here for school reunions, weddings and proms. Note: some great photo opportunities are on the back deck and just behind. There is a retaining wall with lots of greenery as well as a nice view of the ski lift.Located behind the main hotel is the Lodge. This building has 2 rooms available for receptions and what not but for this review I will be discussing the Vista lounge. It is quaint, perfect for a smaller reception. The abundance of natural light here is a dream. The large windows over look the ski hills and pines. My couple was quite pleased with this location as well.Photo opts:Mountain top is popular but unless its winter or fall its mostly just scenic green over look. There is a deck up there that has beautiful planters of flowers for a pop of color but for the artist in me, I was not really feeling this.There is a Bar on top of the building that is just perfect with hanging café lights and lots of hard lines. It makes for some amazing black and white images.To the left of the building there is all windows that encase a stair case lit in blue lights. This is beautiful just about any time of year.There is a pergola with the lights. This is located just off the the left hand side of the hotel tucked besides the shops. In the summer it is covered in greenery.In the winter they have a ice skate rental and small ice rink. This made for an adorable couples session. This is located jut to the left of the hotel too.Lastly I was just there shooting night time family shots. The area around the hotel is adorned with Christmas lights and made for the perfect background.I look forward to Photographing 2024 Proms here this year.

Crystal Mountain always has a great atmosphere! Even on rainy days (which it was for our group this weekend), the people working the ski lifts were toughing it out with a smile.I spent a little more time in the ski shop getting fitted for some boots, but I couldn’t be happier with the help from Brian!It stunk that our weekend was filled with a bit of rain but overall we had an amazing time!Thanks guys!

Best ski resort in Michigan in my opinion. Plenty of slopes, lifts, rental equipment, and food options. Instructors are really encouraging with the kids too. Sunday Fun Day and afternoon passes are a good value. I also really appreciate the destination Level 2 chargers. More resorts should add those.

Crystal Mountain is great for kids and adults learning to ski and snowboard as well as those with experience. The bunny hill is just the right amount you need to get started and there is a nice long beginner run in the middle and long easy runs too. The ski rental is organized and the staff was helpful and kind everywhere we went. I really enjoyed skiing here and I recommend it to families.

As a first timer at crystal mountain I was very pleased with the resort experience. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and the lift crew kept the lifts running smoothly. The snow was great considering the weather had been 50 degrees for a week prior to us arriving.

Favorite store for Cherry 🍒 Republic products. All things Cherry. You name it. You'll want to try all the sample stands . Chocolate covered 🍒, Cherry salsa, Cherry BBQ, and more. Cherry wine. Cherry 🍒 🥧 which I purchased this time. It was absolutely scrumptious. Survived the drive home too. Easy to find. Hours for the restaurant and also the wine store with sampling has limited hours. You'll want to watch your schedule if you want to sample 🍷 wine. Enjoy. Yummy 😋 cherry products.

I like their Smokey Serrano Pepper burger because it's the only option without cherries 🍒🤣 This year somehow it tastes worse though. It used to be really juicy.I'm really impressed how this place is in the 21st century though. You come to your table, scan a QR code, and get your food. Each table has its own QR code, so it's amazing. The waiters and waitresses will just bring the food to you. God it's just such a nice perk. The whole process is speeded up. I want every restaurant to have this option. You can still talk to the waiters and waitresses if you want.The place is also extremely well decorated and has a lot of plants and flowers. Very nice to visit. Highly recommend. Especially because you can't find that many good places in Glenn Arbor.

Amazing pure Michigan experience! From the wine tasting, to the restaurant and the free samples at the store…it is all delicious and fun. A little pricey, but worth the experience.

We went in over Easter weekend to enjoy the live music on Friday night. We were happily surprised when we saw the beer, wine and cider prices - much better than some other spots for wine in town! Food was good, drinks were good, entertainment was great. I'd love to spend some time here in the warmer months.

Absolutely wonderful! Cherrylicious 🍒 goodies in the store and an awesome restaurant. The chicken sandwich with cherry bread was beyond delicious. Pair it with some cherry Spumante for a sparkling alcohol-free lunch, or sample the alcoholic delights on offer in the bar.

Really liked how this place had a little bit of everything! Also whatever they didn't have the stores right next door did! A beautiful part of the neighborhood and a must stop if you are not from the area! Had a really good time and the gift shop seemed to be well taken care of.

Within the last two years we’ve been to this location every time we’ve had a vacation. Great place for your wine tasting experience and if you’re looking for something different try the new 1989 wine it was our favorite out of the 6 for 5$ tasting!

Came through Glen Arbor for a day trip and stopped at Cherry Republic for lunch. I got the Cherry ale, which was delicious. I am always a bit leery about ordering fruity beers because they often taste fake. This had a nice hint of fruit but did not overpower the beer. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Deducting 1 star because I thought the price was a little high for what a I received. $15 for a smallish sandwich and chips. Sandwich bread was cherry bread which was a tad dry and chicken salad could use more a bit more Mayo. I think when I come back I’d order something else off the menu. Overall a good experience.

Lured in by two young musicians Blake and Joe, we found a table in the beer garden. I listened as these two sang about young love and summers gone by to their childhood friends playing cards at a table in front of them. They are seniors in college and about to return. In between songs they would talk about spending summers here. You could tell by the occasional blank stare on their friends faces that it was setting in that this time in their lives was ending.Everyone there were either friends or family. If a table needed cleared one of the summer breakers would do it with a smile.As for the food it was pleasantly on point. The Serrano Burger had just enough spice to keep you curious. I upgraded to the seasoned fries but the family taxed them hard. The few I got were good.All that said, the food could have been trash but ambience would have me coming back. There are only a few times I’ve been in a place where everyone is smack dab in the middle of a core memory.

Update! The QR codes are back! My family and friends could not be happier! This place rocks and the staff are always so great! Don’t miss out on this amazing staple in glen arbor!Fantastic food, great atmosphere in the back and friendly waitstaff. During COVID and after, the tables had QR codes, which was efficient, being able to scan, pay and just have the food runners bring the food out. The service now is slower, with the servers in the back, it gets a little hectic, especially if there are large parties. We have been coming here for years and will absolutely be back and continue to come, but a suggestion to bring back the QR codes might speed up the service, and keep the patrons moving without having to cash out at the tables and cause a slower turnover.

Our family stopped in for some ice cream and ended up staying for awhile to enjoy the nice outdoor seating and family games available. We enjoyed the samples in the store and picked up an amazing tasting cherry BBQ sauce and some candies for the kids. We liked the BBQ sauce so much we had to try the pulled pork shareables dish which didn't disappoint.

We had this on our travel list because of the specialty store but learned that it is so much more. We had been exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes all morning, working our way north from Empire. We pulled into Glen Arbor, and our first stop was Cherry Republic.We were ready for some lunch, so we grabbed a table on the patio and used the QR code ordering system to place our order. We were super impressed that you could leave the ticket open and add to your order as you ate your meal. We decided to get the Chicken Cherry Salad sandwich. The classed chicken salad sandwich with dried cherries tasted great. The cherry sandwich bread also made a big difference. We were very pleased with our lunch choice. I also got the cherry lemonade which was tasty and hit the spot. The young staff that brought the food to our table were friendly and paid attention to details, seeing that we needed an extra plate and getting us one without asking.After lunch, we went to the food specialty store. They had lots of products available for tasting throughout the store. I picked up a basket full of items, many of which were in glass jars. I knew I would not get all the items on the plane when I headed back home, so I decided to ship a box back. The shipping rate was reasonable at $12.00 for my items. When it arrived at my house, I was blown away by the quality of the shipping packaging, and it made me want to order gifts for the holidays for my friends and family. All my items made it safe and sound, and I cannot wait to cook with them.Also at the Cherry Republic is the ice cream stand selling delicious ice cream flavors featuring cherries and the tasting room where you can taste various wines. We did not sample either of these options, but they looked great.

Beautiful beautiful river!!!Absolutely stunning!!!Was our second time and really enjoy it.The kids got us all check in and folks whom drove us over and set us up were great. Although for the gals behind the counter I didn't really need to over hear about "what time it only was, and how excited they were for their shift to end". Was also disappointed to see a business using apple products.

All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Extra shout-out to Montana who drove us to the launch point. He was fun to chat with and gave us several good recommendations for the rest of our trip in Michigan.Paddling the river was wonderful. It lives up to its name with crystal-clear water and we saw plenty of wildlife as we relaxed and enjoyed our afternoon on the water.This is the kind of paddling excursion that you can take kids and beginners on. The current is gentle, but quick enough that you don't actually have to paddle much if you don't want to. The water was only a few feet deep throughout the entire run. The beginning section (out of three sections) does have a lot of overhanging trees that are easy to get snagged on, but there is nothing dangerous about it and you can easily push your way out or get out of the boat and walk if you misjudge your turn and find yourself stuck.

Drove from GA to MI and forgot my hiking boots. Stopped here on my way to the dunes and a nice young woman helped me pick out a pair of hiking boots. They look good and feel good. Grabbed some stickers while I was in there too. Really nice shop, if I had more time I'd have definitely shopped around some more.

So much fun! My husband & I booked a kayak trip for our Anniversary and it was great. River was easy to navigate for a beginner like me but still enjoyable enough for him who has more experience. We found several spots to stop, wade & just enjoy the nature. Shoot The Tube was definitely a highlight. And it was great to walk across the street and enjoy a glass of wine after. Highly Recommend!

Another incredible time on the Crystal River with Crystal River Outfitters! We got a double kayak and it was just right for us and our sweet pup, Rosie, who made friends with everyone on the river. All of the employees were so respectful toward us and really good with our dog, too. Our driver, Gus, was a very helpful and kind young man. The water and weather were perfect on the 4th of July. This was our third time kayaking with them and would highly recommend.

Terrific! We rented snowshoes online before hand, knowing they would refund if weather was bad/no snow. Very easy process to sign waivers as well. Super nice staff. that knew the area. Would absolutely visit the store and use their gear again.

Very personable and pleasant to deal with. Showed us the equipment and gave us a test run on the side street to ensure we 4 could master the electronic features that the bike offered. Gave us helmets. Bikes were in immaculate condition and very clean. Bike seats were soft and very adequate for the ride that we went on which was 22 miles on the South leg of the Glen Arbor Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail. The pavement was smooth the entire way. I would not have used a regular bike for this trip as some of the pavement grade was between 7 and 10 percent grade hills on the sand dunes. The e bike gears are eco, sport, touring and turbo and with each of those gears there is also an option for speed numbers which are between 1 and 7 so the bikes were wonderful for this type of up and down hill travel. Very nice building and staff that run the store. Highly recommend Crystal River Outfitters "The Cyclery"

One of the most professional rafting companies I have ever used across 5 states. They are very organized and clean and have extremely helpful staff. The river itself is a great trip and the water is so clear.The river is quite shallow and this is a light no rapids trip. You do have to portage the kayak over a couple of feet twice but it was pretty simple. Just pick your course thoughtfully and you will not bottom out. Those are just the realities of the river, but it makes for a great ~ 3 hour leisurely rafting experience. Also there is one large culvert that you can toe through they call “shooting the tube” and it was fun addition to the trek.

One of the best parts of the Sleeping Bear Dunes experience is kayaking on the Crystal River. This was our family's fourth trip to Glen Arbor and we could not wait to get back on the Crystal River. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The river is beautiful, meandering, and has plenty of pockets of shade. It is still a smart idea to apply some sunscreen and bug spray. However, this will be one of the most enjoyable rides of your life...especially if you get to "shoot the tube"!

Great time kayaking today, staff was great and shuttle service was fantastic. The shuttles are running a bit late so we were delayed by about 15 minutes but that is due to the great job they are doing with covid, not cramming a ton of people into them and leaving a row of space between parties. We will definitely be back next time we visit. Thanks!!

Relaxing, beautiful paddle through nearly 5 miles of twists and turns. The current is strong enough to keep you moving, but not at all challenging. It's just chill. There are a couple of places where you need to portage and carry your kayak across the street. A bit of a buzz kill. but not a big deal. The river is very shallow in spots, and it's easy to get stuck on a sandbar or a log. It's also very easy get unstuck with your paddle, or just step out of the kayak.The staff was very helpful and took many measures to minimize risks of coronavirus exposure. The van drivers are separated from the passenger area with plastic sheeting and they were very accommodating about dedicating an entire van to each party -- even my party of 1.

Great adventure for the whole family. This trip should be a must for everyone visiting Michigan. Great crew who can help magic to happen. River is perfect, water shallow enough to feel save and deep enough to paddle and swim. There are plenty of spots on the river when you can do small splash party as a short break. Do not be worried about the fallen trees and underwater logs, they are part of the river and are easy to spot. I usually use canoe instead of kayak so maneuvering with the long paddle was great exercise for me and my family. The tube and portages are clearly marked and easy to cross (with the tube having vibes of the water park). The best trip ever.

Took the 3 hour float by tandem kayak. The river is so clear and beautiful that words cannot do it justice. The staff is great! From the shuttle up, to take out back at the Outfitters they took care of everything. The people deserve 5 stars on their own merit and the river deserves 5 more!Very easy float for anyone from beginner to expert. Don't miss out on this gem of the north. Much easier than hiking up sleeping bear! And just as beautiful in its own way!

I camped here with Jake and Alaney in an amazing cabin in the woods over Memorial Day weekend. They are incredibly hospitable and helped me plan a 5 hour tour down the Pine River. They explain how to canoe and what to expect. The coordinated a crew to drop us off and pick us up.Their campsites are clean and have lots of wooded space between each site. They have nice fire pits with cooking a cooking surface. The restrooms are clean and everything is tidy. This couple leaves no detail unresolved in making booking easy and working to make your vacation on the Pine River wonderful. This is my second trip and I'll be heading back for another camping and river experience soon!

One of the nicest campgrounds I’ve been to. Employees were super friendly and helpful (including the cute dogs in the office). The campground itself is clean and peaceful and other campers were so friendly as well. As soon as I left the campground I turned around and booked a cabin for Fourth of July for my family, can’t wait to go back and enjoy the holiday there!

My teen and I took a wonderful fall kayak trip on the 2 hr section of the Pine. Our party went from 7 at reservation to 2 the day of and they were very accommodating all the way through. We were given well explained safety instructions and a lil "quiz" on the shore that helped us avoid tipping on the trip. Unexpected doggo pets at the camp, too!

Our "winter" rafting trip was so much fun - even though the weather was more like spring! I highly recommend this as a relaxing way to enjoy the outdoors. Our guide, Josh, did all the padding, our job was to bask in the scenery and pet Hox the dog. I'm so glad Hox was available to join our excursion!We hiked back and that was amazing, as well. A lovely afternoon!Hoping to do this again sometime when there's snow and ice.

Excellent, trouble free service.Manistee and Pine rivers were great paddles.Both rivers, but, particularly the Pine River had lots of places to camp along the river.

We took a 3 hr rafting trip with our 2 small children (ages 5 and 8) on the Pine River. The staff at PRPC were so friendly and accommodating to us in preparing for our trip with small kiddos. Jake was so helpful; very thorough in explaining things to watch out for along the river and tips to make our rafting trip successful and fun! The river and scenery were beautiful. We had a great time! Our boys really enjoyed being able to help paddle, playing in the water, and even taking a quick nap in the raft. 😄 We will definitely use PRPC again when we are back in the area in the future; highly recommend!

We had such a fun time on the Pine River with PRPC! The staff were informative, friendly, helpful, and cheerful. We did the Peterson to Low Bridge white water section and had a blast. We were in sit-on-top kayaks and loved the experience - no one fell out, but it was easy to get in and out/dump out water at various sand bars. The water was cold! Overall, beautiful river and beautiful people. We expect to come back regularly for our annual mom get-away AND bring up our families for camping and fall/winter rafting trips.

By far one of the best experiences we have had!!The Scout Troop my children are in worked together and got a camping and rafting weekend planned, rafting down the Pine River with PRPC.The staff was amazing to work with from the very beginning to us hiking back to our campsites.Not only were the staff great with last minute add ons, they also answered a million questions from the scouts and were knowledgeable about the area. We had a group of 26 go down the river and all 26 are wanting to come back next year!!Truly one of the best scouting experiences we have had yet.

These guys were great. We had a reservation and the process went very quick and catered to our level. The river was beautiful (we did Peterson to Low Bridge) and the people all along the way were great. Definitely had an adventure.

I’ve been going to Pine River paddlesport for several years now. I just love kayaking the Pine and am convinced that it is the most beautiful river in lower Michigan. I’ve been on most of them. The campground and all the staff are superb. I only wish I could bring my dog ( a quiet one ) with me.

The Pine River is a beautiful float and Pine River Paddlesports is the way to go. They have you covered from the paddles to the parking pass. Great staff. Great experience.

I have called upon Prpc for 3 trips in the last 3 years. I will continue to use their outstanding service until i have my own boat! Alaney is the best! She helped us choose the right section of River to suit our needs for each trip. This livery has the right stretch for any outing you have in mind.

We stayed at Pine River Paddlesports for camping and kayaking this past weekend. Both were fabulous. The campground is secluded and quiet with tall trees surrounding each campsite. The property is beautifully wooded. The bathroom was very clean. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. My teenage son and I did the 3 hour paddle in single kayaks through the Class I rapids and had a blast! We loved the rapids. We hiked up the dune for a great view of the horseshoe bend in the river. I am so grateful for Pine River Paddlesports for a great experience all around!

We loved our winter rafting trip! Even without the snow it was beautiful and so peaceful. Our guide was great and was extra kind by leaving some stickers on my car since as we were hiking back. I had wanted some but forgot to get them before leaving. Super nice extra touch that meant a lot to us. We would highly recommend them.

We went Winter Rafting this past weekend with our guide, Jake, and Mr. Hoxey! Even though there was no snow, it was a very fun experience. Highly recommend requesting Hoxey to join the raft and also hiking the trails back to the launch spot. We had a great girls weekend and will definitely be back! 😊

Very friendly and helpful staff took us over to South Manitou Island. It was windy and wavy, but the boat was very stable, and no one got sea sick.Drinks are available on board, and a great sandwich shop is nearby to provide your lunch on the island.

We had a pleasant boat ride this week. The weather probably helped contribute, but overall such a great vessel to travel on. I felt very safe with the crew. The views are great and the island tour itself was also wonderful. I would say this is a Must Do if you are up near Sleeping Bear Dunes. Relaxed vibe and drinks and food available if you need anything.

Ride was efficient-- friendly crew--got us to some great memories-- thanks! Camped on north 20+ years ago. Truly grateful to be able to return and have the same business still providing service so reliably and well.

Love Manitou Island Transit. It’s become an institution of my trip “up north”. I’m assuming all these negative reviews about punctuality come from seasoned sailors (...?).Staff is friendly and approachable. The ship is in good repair and of industrial quality you’d expect for a Great Lakes passenger ferry. Full bar aboard, and they’re quick to whip up your favorite drink.A quick anecdote: on my fourth trip aboard the Mishe Mokwa we disembarked at South Manitou only to learn that a member of my party had left a grocery store bag onboard that had an expensive hoodie in it and provisions for our stay. A quick phone call to their main office, and next thing I know I have a crew member on board calling to say they have my lost article and it will be arriving to the island this evening with the PM sailing. Wonderful service and experience with something that could have been easily swept under the rug.See you next year, Manitou Island Transit!

Went with a large group for my first trip to S. Manitou. The staff is very friendly and informative. They're conscientious - keeping track of everyone both coming and going, without being in your face. Some folks in our group took the tractor tours & loved them. They recommended them for 1st time visitors in order to get the lay of the land, perhaps coming back later to hike. In my case, next time I'd go on a day the ferry doesn't stop at N. Manitou 1st, as we didn't arrive on S. Manitou until 12 PM, and therefore didn't have enough time to hike to all 4 features (lighthouse, shipwreck, cedars & dunes). Love that they have a bar on the ferry, helps complete the day after a long hike!

Excellent service. Well maintained boat. Crew is outstanding. They had to cancel our trip, but called and emailed immediately as soon as they knew. We scheduled for the next day.

We had a great trip! The parking lot at the marina is paid parking and quite expensive ($48 for the day) but you can park for free on any streets in town. The ride was about an hour and a half but was nice, and there is a full bar on the boat. Great service and trip!

Easy to purchase tickets online. The crew and staff were friendly and they made us all feel comfortable and safe when the water got choppy. We took advantage of the drinks and snacks onboard. The bathroom was clean. Day Parking was the only thing that was a bit confusing. Obviously, it's the only option to get to the islands but that doesn't stop them from focusing on excellent service.

I love taking the ferry to South Manitou Island. The staff and the ferry are top notch and very dependable. The ride is about 1 hour and 20 min. Sit up top or on the main deck, its all good! There are even co*cktails available on board. Do yourself a favor and take the ferry to South Manitou, it is like a mini-vacation.

MOSQUITO ALERT!Now that I have said that I will say that these guys are awesome. I went over many times as a kid with my dad and just went over today with my new husband. The boat is comfortable, has a snack and drinks bar, and has all the things that will take care of mother natures island mosquito hoard. The crew is knowledgeable. Make sure to use good time management as they are very prompt and stick to the schedule. The trip to the Manitous with these guys is not to be missed if you are in Leelanau.

We took the day trip to South Manitou Island. It was enlightening and fun! The ride to the island is about an hour and twenty minutes. We were on the upper level on the way over and the lake was a little rough and it was chilly but still enjoyable! We did the tour of the farms and learned so much. We had no idea of how many people had actually lived on the island at one time and all of the history that had happened there. You do have to be prompt with your timing to make sure that you make it on the boat for your ride back. We rode on the lower level , due to the upper lever being full, on the way back and you don’t see the islands and dunes as well. We can’t wait to go back and explore more of the island! We would highly recommend taking the time to make the trip!

Great people where you get tickets and on the boat. One of the crew members on the way back made sure to ask how our 6 year old liked it. He loved it already wants to go back. And we will.

I went camping with my 2 daughters in South Manitou. We took the ferry to and from the island. Booking, boarding and transit both ways were great. The boat was big enough and comfortable on the main deck and on the open top. They have a snack bar and wet bar. They make the best bloody Mary. The whole crew was helpful and friendly. On the island they had tours of the interesting things on the island. The guide drove the small tractor and you sat on padded benches on a large flat trailer.

Drove up from Flint with my car club. Very friendly staff! The fish sausage is incredible! Bought 1lb and ended up with two more! Can't wait to go back!

We love pairing some of Carlson's fish jerky with the Cheese Shanty's cheese curds! The crew here is hard-working and around early hours smoking fish. Fresh catches daily and delicious!

After our weekend near LeLand we stopped by to grab some treats to take home, I got a small filet of smoked salmon and a small pack of the beef jerky, both were spectacular with full, smoky flavor while still tasting good and fresh! My only regret is not getting more.We plan on making a trip back soon, and stopping here for more is definitely on our list!10/10 if you love smoked fish or jerky, stopping here (and Fish Town in general) is an absolute must!

The business has a different feel since it changed hands a bit back, definately more commercial feeling. They changed the recipe for the whitefish pate and I do not care for it as much. These things being said they are still my favourite place to get fresh trout and whitefish from. Make sure to ask if they are fresh or from frozen. The smoked whitefish and trout are just as good as ever. I give the salmon a skip because its Atlantic and not from MI. Make sure to get there early in the day if you want fresh fish!

If you're looking for some really nice great smoked fish, you have to stop here. Prices are reasonable and you can walk outside and look at my back and see all the beautiful spillway. Just discovered this place summer of 23. The smoked fish is fantastic, but the beef jerky is the best I have had in my 63 years. We will be back there every summer going forward.

A must hit up spot if you're looking to pickup some fish food! They have a nice display of all the food ready to get. While I there, I picked up a container of the "Smoked Fish Pate". If I had to encapsulate Fish Town into one food, it would be this one. It has a nice taste of that classic fish smell, but also some interesting cool taste like Lake Michigan's breeze.

A very nice place! I strongly recommend to visit! It has few restaurants and souvenir shops! Beautiful scenes! Good place for relaxing and for families as well! Some people were fishing there! You can rent a boat from there too! Not good mobile coverage there, which is good to enjoy the experience without technology distraction

This is one of the neatest places in Michigan! Fishtown has lots of dockside shops and dining with a rustic, maritime vibe. Many of the restaurants have outdoor seating. The shops have quality souvenirs. It can get very busy on that weekend in season so plan accordingly. I recommend visiting during the week.

What a special area! We took our dogs and walked around all the historic boardwalks and shops. Everyone was very friendly, and the view was so beautiful! I was able to go into some of the shops while my husband stayed outside with my dogs. The fishing here is great, hence why they call it Fishtown! Be sure to relax and take your time here. There is so much to see and do and experience! There is so much history in this small area, be sure to stop and read all the signs! And of course, get some fish and cheese while you are here!

If you go, I strongly suggest getting there before 10 AM and getting the food you would like immediately. We got there around 10 AM and were able to eat and check out the shanties before it got too busy. We left by 12:30 PM and the town was super, super busy to the point it was difficult to walk around. Overall, it's a cute little town and worth going to.

My only complaint is there was only 1 store open today and there was multiple pieces of food and trash all over the board walk. I'm sure there are dates saying when everything is open. We just must of come at an odd time.

I wish we had been there during the season while it is open. The water is so clear, and the little bits of history we saw was interesting.

Fishtown is an awesome piece of Northern Michigan history. They are redoing all of the boardwalks currently but it will be bustling in the summer im sure. If you live in Michigan and haven't been.... do yourself a favor and go!

Beautiful place to visit. You can see the historical aspects of this being a fishing town for sure just in the buildings alone. There are quite a few little boutiques to shop around in -0 offering various clothing items, swim supplies, longboarding supplies, etc.Beautiful scenery to gazette amongst the various peers overlooking the lake. There are a few places to eat in the town as well. Highly recommend taking a trip to Fishtown.

Historic Fishtown in Leland is always a wonderful Michigan destination. Charter a commercial fishing boat, stay in waterfront lodging, shop the many specialty stores, explore art galleries, have a meal at one of the waterfront restaurants. I guarantee you will enjoy a visit!

If you’ve never been to the historic part of Leland, aka Fishtown, you need to go. It’s very small but very beautiful! The old historic section is full of little shacks, some are stores, cheese, candy, beads, hats. And there are some restraunt’s on the water too. It’s definitely something to appreciate in life and not through photos!

This is a very nice town. We didn't have time to see a lot of things, but we stopped into the cove. Good food fun atmosphere. The salmon are running, so we were able to go out onto a bridge and watch some of them jump. It was my first time seeing that in person. Next time I go, I will try to spend more time here.

Very cool place! We have wanted to go for a long time. Highly recommend the cheese place for sandwiches and beer. You can sit out and drink and eat by the water on picnic tables. Also the smoked fish place- the smoked fish and pate are amazing. Just a warning- not many patios are dog-friendly. You may want to call ahead of time to check with places if you want to eat with your pup- or get a sandwich and beer at the cheese place and sit by the water.

Still closed May 30 for the winter, but we enjoyed it just the same. Water is crystal clear. I want to go back when it is opened.

Great historic town with delicious smoked fish and a great ice cream shop/outdoor retail shop. Most of the shops close by 5pm. The harbor has ferry service to island Manitou. We did not take it. Some other travelers told us it is a full day commitment and the island are very beautiful but full of mosquitoes. They also said if you are just going for the day, you can do about 1 hike and you have to get back so you don't miss the ferry back to mainland. There is overnight camping on the island. They also said there is snorkeling and some interesting shipwrecks to see.

This place immediately puts you in an atmosphere of the olden day fisheries and coastal life. Presently, loved the Two Fish gift shop and Leeland Harbor House. Great products, pleasant customer service, and the greatest ice cream selections! This is the only place I was able to use the Internet service too.

Kinda a cool little area, looks like something out of a painting for sure.. the area had a bunch of little tourist type shops to spend money in if that's your thing. Kinda stuff 40 yo women can't get enough of

We took a tour with Katherine. She was a very informed and engaging tour guide. I learned a lot from her. I would recommend this tour to anyone! My only complaint was it was hard to figure out where to go for the tour. There are no signs at all on the outside of the building and I struggled figuring out where to go. (Signs on the inside are great though)

We greatly enjoyed the 2 hour group tour with Catherine! She was very knowledgeable of the grounds, buildings, and had first-hand stories, as well, with growing up in the nearby area. Added humor to her tour, too. We enjoyed the shops & restaurants - glad to see there are NO chain businesses allowed! Highly suggest visiting this MI gem and going on the tour. After the tour, we drove to the barns & botanical garden areas, too.

I did the shopping yesterday and tour today. So happy i went. I learned so much. Very informative and the tour guide had a great sense of humor. Doing the tour, you went into areas not seen by others.

So much fun! We visited on a Saturday and had a good time visiting this market. We didn't realize there were tours and things of the asylum but will be planning ahead to book one for our next trip! Was also lovely to try left foot Charlie and Earthen Ales, all within walking distance

The tour guide did a fantastic job! She was thorough and interesting. The tour of the mens cottage and the tunnels were phenomenal. You kinda get the chills as you wonder what living here must have been like. We also caught orbs in pictures in the tunnels. I would 100% recommend this tour!!

There's so much to enjoy about this space, indoors and outdoors. The merchants throughout the grounds offer high quality goods that are unique and sometimes downright one of a kind. The stories of the property told by Joe Kilpatrick, our tour guide, were informative and heartfelt. He's got a personal history with the space that goes back decades (no, not as a patient) and his passion for caring about others comes through in his presentation. If you're in the area and you're looking for something that is unique, give it a whirl. Just the architecture alone is enough to draw you in. The experience will more than likely bring you back.

Unique shops, restaurants, and tons of history. This former site of The Traverse City State Hospital is amazing. We were on a tour of some of the grounds, and learned how this facility took care of mentally ill patients. Very good guide. He actually worked as a volunteer when he was 12 - so his information was authentic.

We recently went on the 90-minute Explorer Tour at Traverse City Commons, and it was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide, Shawn, was awesome. He was so engaging, funny, and I learned a lot about the area without feeling overwhelmed. It's a must-do if you're in the area!

Love to see old buildings repurposed. Lots of shops and restaurants in the lower levels of the buildings. The grounds are well kept and beautiful too. Would love to return and do the tour to hear the history of the place.

My family and I visited Traverse City over spring break to go to the Great Wolf Lodge. We always love making a trip to The Village. I love how the old hospital has been re-purposed into something positive, and you are bound to find a treasure or two in the little shops there. I highly recommend checking out The Haberdashery for cool and unique items for men.

This is the third time we've done this trip but this time we took our teenage sons. Each time we learn something new. Our boys love history and they loved every minute of the tour. Mr. Kilpatrick was once again an amazing guide. I highly recommend this tour to any history buff who loves the great State of Michigan.

With over eight million bricks to construct one building alone and 100-plus years of history, the Traverse City State Hospital evolved into what it is today, the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Today, the Village at Grand Traverse Commons offers an array of activities, events, and services such as a highly-recommended historical tour, yoga and pilates, an outdoor farmers market, craft and vendor shows, shopping and fine dining, and so much more. Walk the grounds or the shopping center and view the timeline and descriptive photos of the original State Hospital. It is a fascinating, must-see part of Traverse City.

More than a "tourist attraction," its home to unique shops and products - many featuring local goods. Season farmers markets feature fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, sauces, baked goods and more. Excellent restaurant choices include casual for lunch and upscale Italian for dinner. Note - parking at busy times can be tricky, but we've never failed to find a spot.

Great place to walk around the shops, galleries, restaurants and beautiful grounds. Awesome restaurants, winery and coffee house as well as the surrounding grounds and tours. We rode out bikes here from the airbnb we rented by the bay.

Long time fan of the CEO and enjoyed my first visit. I loved all the pin ball machines. I was a huge fan of the Thai Peanut beer and liked the banners on the ceiling. Can’t wait to visit again.

One of my personal favorite stops in the Traverse city area. They have a solid selection of different beers and some seltzers. Lots of different arcade games available to while you're hanging out. Looked like the night we were there they had a comedian in the back room. Chips and popcorn were available for snacks.

Our first time at Right Brain was great. We came here after staying at Great Wolf Lodge with the family. The kids were entertained with the arcade games and my husband and I were entertained with the variety of beers. The clean facility, variety of beers and friendly staff made it a great experience!

Of all the micro-breweries we visited, Right Brain has by far the largest selection. Cool pinball and games no food.

Good beers, cheerful staff. Order delivery or carry in, they don't have a kitchen.

I stopped by on Easter and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Right Brain. Their beers were all top notch, and oddly enough I think the Thai Peanut beer was my favorite. The place has a lot of local art for sale, but all the pinball machines available for play are a really draw. It’s just a fun place to spend time. The bartenders were friendly and quick to help too.

Great Beers, Awesome Pinball! The staff is amazing. Fun events most nights of the week. Wednesday is the best adult trivia in town. And Thursdays @ 7pm is the Pinball tournament.

Atmosphere was nice. We went on a Friday night. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. They have a ton of different beers on tap. We grabbed some small batch cans to go. No food but u can bring food to eat there. They have lots of pinball machines and a few video games. Definitely will go back.

We each did a flight of beers that sounded interesting to us and liked a majority of them. There were a lot of unique flavors and some things that were fun to try. The Nitro CEO stout was smooth and delicious. Concrete dinosaur was heavy and tasted great as well. Wait staff was friendly and chatty. The arcade games put coin slot to shame. We had a really fun time and we’d go back in a heartbeat.

Super funky and eclectic brewery with old school pinball machines that were lots of fun. Very kid friendly with super interesting beer flavors. Probably our favorite brewery during our visit to traverse city for the chill vibes!

Mildly cool beer that you can't taste before buying. Our choices were, as wife would say "Not terrible". Should have left when they told me I couldn't taste the beer first. I understand you have 40+ beers, but let people try 2 or 3 before committing.

Right Brain is the best. It’s chill, it’s funky, their beer is amazing, you can DoorDash food for lunch or dinner. Bring a board game, grab a beer, download the Touch Tunes app and just hang out.

Went here for an afternoon tour as part of a bachelor party. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the drinks were great. My favorite was the barrel aged gin but all the whiskeys were great

We visited the store in Mackinaw Crossings. The attendants were warm, friendly and helpful. I sampled the Ole George rye whiskey. My opinion; don’t mix it, don’t ice it, just sip and enjoy the peppery finish. Without a doubt my favorite whiskey!

Grand Traverse Distillery small group tour was a truly wonderful experience. Cindy's tour was fun and covered the process from beginning to barrel to bottle. She was knowledgeable and funny, an excellent use of our afternoon on our visit to TC. The tastings and co*cktails were an added bonus to an already incredible tour. 10/10 would come again.

We were up in Traverse celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and thought this was a great activity. Excellent tour, loved the facilities, our tour guide was the best even though he was not the normal tour guide, very friendly and great conversations. Thouroughly enjoyed the Manhatten to drink while on the tour and my wife loved ger gin and tonic. The tasting was well done and enjoyed everything I chose and was recommended. The only thing was I was really looking forward to trying the Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon and they were all out. Really wanted to take a bottle home. Other than that Highly Recommend!

We stopped in for a weekday tour. Kent Rabish, the owner, gave an awesome tour about the history and process for making all their different products. Was super awesome to see how he's able to make so many different products in such a small facility. Very cool that he distills, ages, and bottles everything on site.

We had a great tour with the owner Kent Rabish. Very informative and mad props to Kent for sticking to distilling, aging and bottling all his products instead of sourcing the distillates to scale up.Take a short break from the wineries to see a small scale spirit distillery! You'll be glad you did.

We took the Saturday afternoon tour and it was amazing!!! It’s a pretty quick tour, about 30 min, but for only $10 a person it was a great deal, we learned a lot, and it came with a free tasting glass. Our tour guide was fantastic and made great drinks. You can get a co*cktail beforehand to take on the tour! Lots of unique items to buy in the shop. We also loved that all staff is vaccinated, and masks were required on the tour, it made us feel more comfortable and safe.

Tour was good, Laura was so nice and informative. We got a glass and had several tastings. I like how they have vodka, gin, rum and whiskey. She knew what they mixed well with too.

Stopped on a whim as we had enjoyed their Cherry Vodka before. For $15 each, you can get a very informative tour and tasting at this location. The folks there are super nice and I would recommend this to anyone, regardless if they are whiskey/bourbon fans or not.

We had such a great time! Our tour was so informative and we had a great conversation with Lacey, one of the distillers, about what they are doing and how they are different from other area distillers, as well as the more traditional places down in Kentucky. The tasting was delicious....I would recommend the chocolate vodka with some simple syrup added to it. It was ah-mazing. Wishing I had gotten the chipotle vodka and McClure's Bloody Mary mix, but I will just have to check my local liquor store too see if they have it. :-)

Great tour and fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Grand Traverse is definitely my personal favorite distillery in the Traverse City area with some great bourbon and whiskeys. My favorite was the Ole George Single Barrel, had to go home with a bottle!

Great course, unfortunately we were not informed of an outing scheduled for this morning. Really slow play, 2 hours forty minutes to play nine holes. We quit after nine and had lunch. They were kind enough to issue rain check for 9 holes and cart good thru 2022, as we were visiting and would not be back in the area before then. Really appreciate that. We will come back next year!

This was considerably the worse golf course I have ever played at. I have never saw such terrible course management, the greens were absolutely unplayable, bunkers all filled with water or wet, and tee boxes overgrown. Look at photos attached, if you are trying to look for new courses in the northern area, skip this 100%.

I would describe this as a country course, kind of in the middle of nowhere. very good layout, many elevation changes and a very interesting course. you will enjoy it. I recommend! I played as a single and the ranger was helpful letting me play through groups, because there was regular folks out there who did not know golf etiquette.

I had a great experience at Chateau Chantal earlier today (January 4, 2023)!!It was my first time there and the Tasting Room Manager, Hailey Green, couldn't have been nicer in greeting me, answering my questions about their wine selections (I was looking for sweeter wines), and directing me towards a few selections which I really liked!!The ambiance and decor of the place is really inviting, as well, and the views of the countryside are beautiful!!I will definitely be back again.

A charming winery situated atop a bluff, providing picturesque views of the bay from both indoor and outdoor spaces. The establishment offers competitive flight pricing and caters to a diverse clientele by including mixed drinks for those who may not exclusively prefer wine. The wines and vodka on offer exhibit commendable flavors, with a particular recommendation for those inclined towards sweeter varieties. While the wines here may not match the California style, the overall experience and selection make it a worthwhile destination, especially for enthusiasts of sweeter wine profiles.

It is great for tour and good scenary rather than for wine. I was given 3 choices of wines to taste for 12+$ and tasted 7 including my wife's choices. We love Michigan and tasted many other local wines but nothing came to my taste this time, so I can't recommend any either. It can be just my taste.

This is place is a paradise! It’s overwhelmingly beautiful and cute. They have seating areas in the backyard facing west with breathtaking views, indoors bar and little shop, as well as another outdoor area facing east. Spectacular wine selections especially their ice wine which is very expensive and sweet.

I have stayed here a few times, and each time has been delightful. The rooms are always exquisite, the executive apartment we stayed in was pure luxury and serenity, with beautiful views and every amenity you could possibly need or desire. Marie herself was a delight and she greeted each of us in the morning with her hospitality and sat with us and even shared her fantastic recipe for what we were enjoying for our morning breakfast. The bonus was the beautiful grand piano in the lounge that I got to play and enjoy after hours. If you're looking for a place to feel at peace and be surrounded by one of the prettiest peninsulas in Northern Michigan, I highly suggest a stay at the Chateau Chantal.

Beautiful setting up on a hill overlooking the vineyard and the bay in the distance. They offer several different options to enjoy their wine. My wife and I each ordered a flight and relaxed out on their spacious deck to take in the scenery. The wine itself is hot or miss; depends what you like. We both thought the whites we had were better than the reds.

The absolute highlight of our Traverse City trip. Had the fall 6 course dinner with wine pairings Friday, and returned Saturday because it was just that good. Special mention must be made both for the chef, Jonathan Thomas, and our host, Bill. Jonathan prepared one of the best meals my fiancé and I have eaten in years, and Bill presented the wines, pairings, and history of the chateau with marvelous eccentricity and passion. It is so wonderful seeing people in their element who obviously love what they do. The wines were incredible and priced reasonably, despite being by far the best we tried that weekend among dozens. Cannot recommend highly enough. Only (small) nitpick was that when we returned the next day for a second experience, we found there were no real fresh food options available to go with the wine in the tasting room. They do have a decently stocked grab and go section, however. Overall this was a great experience, and definitely one we will revisit regularly.

Chateau Chantal is nothing short of incredible. Hailey and Crystal (apologies if I misspelled her name) made my proposal to my now-fiancee absolutely perfect. They were very accommodating and went the extra mile to make the experience memorable. The winery is also beautiful. Would absolutely recommend to all my friends and will definitely be coming back next time we are in TC.

Chateau Chantal was on our advanced list of places to visit as it was mentioned in a number of books and articles that we had read. The location of this winery is the top selling point. Located back off the road you drive through the vineyards to make it back to the winery, inn, and tasting room. The winery is located on top of the hill with views of the bay on both sides. It is one of the best settings ever to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.So let's talk about the three stars. First off, this place is designed to crank people through their tasting area. When you walk in the door you have to stop and purchase your ticket before you even walk into the tasting room. The tasting is $10 for a three-wine tasting, or you can get a single glass of wine for the same amount. Then you stand in a queue with your ticket in hand to go to a tasting station.We had a nice young man working at the winery while attending the maritime college in Traverse City. He was helpful and set us up with our three tasters in a cool wine caddy so you can take your wines outside.I would definitely stick to the roses and whites here. Our favorite was the sparkling rose, and we purchased a bottle for a friend who we would be visiting later on the trip. The reds on the other hand were underwhelming. They were not very deep in their flavors and just were not something that I would choose to drink regularly.Then the staff starts throwing away box after box of wine bottles into a dumpster directly below where we were sitting. Do you know that sound of crashing glass that just makes you cringe? Do that over and over again and the setting is ruined. I wish we had been able to visit other wineries in the area to have more of a comparison, but this was not exactly what I was hoping for.

My partner and I stopped in late on 6/8/23 and had excellent service provided by Katherine! We were greeted with a very happy and pleasant demeanor despite it being late. Also, we were pleased that she had lots of knowledge of the menu and the property. We ended up purchasing a bottle of sweet red, one of our favorites. Thank you again, Katherine!

Their cherry sparkling wine is the best cherry wine we’ve tried. They also have the most selection of wine. They’re also the busiest wineries, we even saw tour bus coming here just for the tasting.The downside to me is that since we have a dog, so we were not allowed to go to the patio, we had to sit on the west side under the sun, it just not a really pleasant experience especially if you’re trying to taste some white wines

The views from the back deck are stunning -- you can see the water on both sides of the peninsula. The wine, however, is not great. I thought maybe I made a mistake by sampling only reds, however I tried a few whites and they, too, were not good. But hey -- taste is subjective so go grab a flight, pull up a seat on the deck, and try it for yourself! If nothing else you'll at least enjoy the vistas!

We stayed at Chateau Chantal B&B for our 46th anniversary. It was a wonderful choice. Accommodations, service and breakfast were excellent. Lovely views of Traverse Bay and vineyards on expansive patios and terraces. We stayed in the Degas suite. The wine making tour by owner, Bob was informative and you can tell what this business has meant to him and his family. We recommend it and I’m sure we’ll be repeat customers.

PRO TIP: Take your tasting to the front side of the property, it’s so much more secluded with incredible views and quiet ! The winery itself boasts an incredible property. This is the kind of place you can go and spend an entire day /afternoon. The wine is super easy sipping , the tastings come in sets of 3, from a select portion of the menu. Some reserves can be sold at an up charge to the tasting. This is one of the only places that you can find ice wines, which are very sweet. This felt like much more of a commercialized experience, still excellent but by no means a “small” family vineyard! If anything go for the incredible panoramic coastal views!

Did not acknowledge us until 10 minutes of being in the waiting area. Even though workers passed by and saw us. Found out that the 'view side' didn't allow dogs. How can you say dog friendly if the main attraction is not? Went to the other side and left after 15 minutes of no service.

We had written Chateau Chantal off some years ago after having some snooty and poor service. After being served by Bill that has completely turned around. He was friendly and helpful and inviting - the opposite of what we experienced a few years ago.The wines are varied and very solid with some great dry reds that we enjoyed sipping.The pricing structure seems to have undergone a change as well and for the better. While still not quite our favorite on the peninsula, we will definitely be back and happy to enjoy a glass or two on the patio.

I stayed with my sisters and mom for four nights at Chateau Chantal in June of this year, our home base for a wine sojourn across the Old Mission Peninsula. The Inn itself is impeccable in every aspect, situated in the highest and most scenic spot on the peninsula, and with comfortable and well-appointed rooms.While we had originally booked a (lovely) room with a king bed and pullout couch, we were able to transfer (at a generously discounted cost) to the Schoolhouse Suite, which was a 2-floor masterpiece of a living space with a full kitchen, small veranda, luxe sitting area, a beautiful bathroom, and two bedrooms. I was battling a hip injury and my mother was sidelined by osteoporosis, which made the second "real" bed/room a necessity we hadn't anticipated. We were so grateful for the kindness of everyone we worked with - Ann, Jenny, the rest of the fastidious and kind staff.Breakfast each morning was wonderful, and so were the stories told by the Vineyard owner himself! The grounds were immaculate, and the joy abounded. I would definitely recommend the Chateau to any looking for serene, accommodating, comfortable lodging in the heart of Michigan wine country.

A group of 12 of us visited Chateau Chantal Winery as our second stop on a sunset wine tour, and it was amazing. Gorgeous views, great service, and delicious wine. We also loved the seasonal option of a wine slushy! Super fun and tasty! Overall a great winery, and definitely worth a stop!

Amazing place! I have always purchased from the farmers market but decided to visit the farm. It did not disappoint. It is a little piece of heaven!!

Great to smell lavender from a field! Would like a few more natural products. Maybe dried lavender. However it's also nice that they have plants outside their little shop. Found people drying lavender in a barn. Great stop!

Incredibly beautiful place to stop! The staff were all welcoming and very helpful. We were instructed we could walk the grounds and I’m glad we did! The little shop had a ton of novelties, and I was able to cut my own lavender bundle for a low price. I would highly recommend stopping at this little gem in the area. It will be on my list anytime we’re in the area!

The employees were so friendly and nice, the farm was beautiful. The smell of all that Lavender is so relaxing 😌

I just stopped here on a whim, and boy, what an awesome place! Being a farmer myself downstate, I am always interested in the different types of agriculture wherever I go, so seeing a lavender farm was something that piqued my interest. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I could go check out the lavender fields and the drying barn! The lady working there was very pleasant and interesting to talk to. If you are here, you have to try the lavender ice cream, it is the best ice cream you will have anywhere! Did I mention how spectacular the views are here? I will for sure be returning next time I am in the Traverse City area!

We had so much fun picking our own lavender! Each bundle was $5, and the staff member in the farm hut was so friendly. Many lavender products were also for sale.

We had a great time enjoying this farm. Did the you pick cherries 🍒. We picked up 25 bunches of dried l lavender for our daughter's wedding. Then we enjoyed the lavender ice cream, it's a must.

Stopping here was a really fun and cute experience I’m glad we made the stop. Picked our own Lavender and cherries then stopped and got some goodies in the little shop. Really decently priced too compared to everything else around.

This place was charming and authentic! The owner was so kind and let us explore the farm. AND THE LAVENDER ICE CREAM. My gosh!!!! I would’ve never thought I’d like it, but my kids (4&6) wanted to try it and let me just say we should’ve bought several. The three of us shared one bowl and inhaled it. Just incredible. They still say it’s their favorite!

Would absolutely recommend a pit stop here on your day of wine tasting. The woman working in the shop was so kind and knowledgeable. We were able to walk around the farm and see all their beautiful lavender growing and go in the barn to see their drying process. In the shop, they had a wide array of lavender products made from the lavender grown at the farm. We tried the lavender honey ice cream and it was amazing.

People kept asking if we had been there in our many stays around Leelanau. Tried it and were happy we did! It's a nicer place. Actually good Michigan wine. Similar spectacular view as Brys Estate. Didn't have the drunken bus tour people. Dog friendly!

We have been to 2Lads a few times over the years and unfortunately our last visit was not met with expectations.The selection of wines for tasting was very limited (6-7 at best) and how tastings are operated are not conducive for someone looking to try and find a wine they like.Now you have to buy a flight and it was 3 (2oz) pours for $15. Or you could buy by the half or full glass, but this doesn’t help if you are not sure what you like.But for the wine enthusiast, you’ll enjoy your visit and the view over the bay is great.

We had a fantastic tour with Karl. Highly recommend the wine club as discounts and this amazing tour “behind the scenes” with a flight and huge charcuterie board pairing are included. We learned a lot about this beautiful winery and the close attention to detail they have of their craft.

Most of the vineyards on Old Mission have changed the way they do wine tastings. They now do wine "flights" and they are way more expensive! I would also highly recommend going on a weekday or getting a reservation for a group of 4 or larger to avoid long waits. They still have a great view and I do like their wine. They are not my most favorite but I would say they are best at making dry white wines, so if you like dry whites, definitely check them out. I even liked their Pinot Gris which is not typically a wine I enjoy.

We visited four wineries on Old Mission Peninsula, and this was easily the best. The wine was fantastic (wish we would have bought more here…we saved some money for the other wineries, but they weren’t near as good). It’s complex and has interest. The staff was so friendly and the view is the best we had. It’s very clean and simple to sip outside (what we did). Also the food is great (again, the best we had on the peninsula). Worth the trip to the top of the peninsula. We’d recommend not stopping other places and just spend the day here.

Arrived around 3pm on a Saturday. Great location and nice modern architecture. It was super busy probably because of visitors coming for the race in Bayshore. Had to wait in line for about 20 minutes to get a couple of flights. Wine really isn’t my thing but it was good. There were a lot of chairs out on the grass so you could sit and. Not up on the wines prices but these 6 2oz pours were almost $30. If you like wine I’d say this is a winner, but if you don’t, I’d say keep driving. All in all nice experience and super friendly staff. Well done.

My wife and I stopped here for a tasting. Chris was our bartender...he was very friendly and knowledgeable. The building was modern construction and had wonderful bay windows with spectacular views. The misses ended up buying three bottles (I don't drink) so it must have been great.

The wine tasting in the garage area is not ideal. The lawn with the chairs is beautiful. but it would be awesome with some firepits.

As members we enjoyed the complimentary tour and tasting for the very first time. Everything was phenomenal and one of my family members also joined their wine club! 10/10 recommend visiting and signing up as a club member!

Their cab franc is legit (I liked it more than Brys), and their casual outdoor area is awesome with a view of the bay. We spent about $40 for a tasting flight, a separate glass of wine and tip.
